Our ingredients
Plant-derived formulas, built for sensitive skin and disclosed in full. No optical brighteners, no fillers, no mystery parfum.
How we formulate
Most laundry formulas are built backwards - a cleaning base first, then fragrance and brighteners layered on to make it feel premium. We started at the other end, with skin. Every WASHED formula begins with the question of what a reactive, sensitive skin can comfortably live against for sixteen hours a day, and works outwards from there. That means plant-derived surfactants doing the actual cleaning, chosen for how gently they rinse out of natural fibres rather than how much foam they throw up in the drum.
It also means a shorter list than you might expect. There is no optical brightener in any WASHED product - the thing that makes whites look whiter by depositing a fluorescent film on the fabric, which then sits against your skin. No colourants, because a detergent does not need to be blue. No fillers to make a bottle feel weightier than it is.
If an ingredient isn't earning its place, it isn't in there.
On fragrance
Fragrance is where most brands stop being specific. 'Parfum' on an ingredients list can cover hundreds of materials, which is no use at all if your skin reacts to one of them. We build our scents like fine fragrance - top, heart and base - from named essential oils and fragrance materials, and we publish the full breakdown including the declarable allergens.
It means you can check a formula against your own skin before you buy, rather than after. And if you would rather have none of it, the unscented range is exactly the same formula with the fragrance left out.
What we hold to
Every ingredient in every formula is on the pack and on the product page - full INCI, nothing hidden behind 'parfum' or 'proprietary blend'.
No optical brighteners, no fillers to bulk out a bottle, no colourants. If an ingredient isn't doing a job for the wash or the skin, it isn't in there.
Our scents are built from named essential oils and fragrance materials, disclosed down to the allergens - so anyone with reactive skin can check before they buy.
